Hall County Animal Shelter

So my service dog we go a lot of places and people give him so many toys my home is over flowing. So we came to donate but also found out that if you are low income you can get help with food for our fur babies. I just moved here and I am so grateful to have the resources. My service dog I depend on him every second and he throws up and overheats being a Georgia Frenchie Dawg WOOF! God Bless these wonderful amazing people knew exactly what kind of dog food to give to my best friend who digestive system is very sensitive. This is first time he’s ate and not thrown up. I feel so bad because I wish I knew sooner that’s all he needed. I’m crying as I write this because I wasn’t educated about the breed. I adopted a dog from Hall County Animal Shelter the day after Memorial Day 2025. The shelter really worked with me to make the adoption happen, while still performing the necessary diligence to ensure the dog would be in a safe home. I came from out of state for this dog to save her from euthanasia. In my opinion, the shelter staff went that extra mile to save the dogs life. She was clean, well cared for, microchipped, had received medical treatment, spayed, and all her vaccinations/ medical records accompanied her. It was a great adoption experience. The staff was helpful and courteous. Overall my adoption experience was amazing and I am gratefu to have a wonderful dog, (family member), from it. Thank you Hall County Animal Shelter staff for all you do to help the animals in your care.

Great place to adopt cats and dogs. The adoption fee for a cat is only $25(all fixed up, vaccinated, and healthy), much lower than other places. The animals are well cared for and the place is very clean. Please know that this place is different from humane society, where the animals may have a longer grace period. Generally they give a pet a month or so in the shelter before they put them down to make room for new animals that are gathered by animal control or surrenders. They don’t keep the animals for a long time, and they don’t keep animals that have a lot of health problems, behavior problems, or declining conditions. It’s sad but that’s just how it is. We very much enjoyed our visit to the Animal Shelter. The staff are great! Everyone was so friendly and happy to see us. If they thanked us once, they thanked us 10 times for visiting! Then. when we did find the perfect dog for our family, the adoption process was quick, and easy. And, we received more thanks It felt great to save a dog. He was on his last day. The Shelter had named him Charlie, but he didn't respond to that name, so after getting to know him and suggesting names to him, his name is now Max. :) As you can see in the picture, he is very much at home!
