Happy Life Animal Rescue

Having adopted two beloved pets from Happy Life Animal Rescue, and then volunteering I’ve witnessed first hand how much HLAR loves their rescues from transport to adoption they provide the best care possible! As soon these sweet souls arrive at the rescue they are given the much needed care and assessments to ensure they are or become healthy, happy dogs & cats. The adoption fees are very reasonable given they are all adoptable once up to date on their age appropriate vetting and fixed. They have open office hours and go to various community events every weekend to find loving homes.

I adopted Piro (formally Jordan) here. He has been nothing short of perfect. After months of searching and meeting with some other dogs at different places this was the most positive experience I had. You go there, you get alone time to really meet with the dog you want, and you get to leave with them that day. No waiting, no adoptions slipping through underneath you, and a very friendly atmosphere. I came prepared with a collar/leash/harness set but they were going to pick out a collar and leash to give us had I not, he was also sent home with a bag of dog food and a special toy that the owner herself picked out for him to help make his transition smoother. Happy Life Animal Rescue is my favorite rescue!! Multiple family members pets including my own 2 cats were rescued from happy life and we have all been thrilled with Lorraine, Roy, Colin along with all the wonderful volunteers who truly care for these pets. I can’t recommend them enough.

i adopted my best friend Milo from here almost 5 years ago thank you for taking such good care of him in the weeks he was in your care such an awesome shelter!!! fee was $500 which we were perfectly fine with paying as we are glad to support this rescue with helping out other dogs like ours we love our pup and are so grateful

Edit: I should have done way more research into the breed of dog we were getting. I asked for a calm demeanor. I let my emotions take over and did not ask the breed. The adoption papers said Pyrenees and Great Terrier. After months I decided to google those breeds and in fact they did not align with the type of dog that would fit our family. As a rescue, I really thought they would steer us away from a high energy breed especially when specifically requested. I ask over and over for a calm dog. I told them we have small children, cats and a senior dog. I understand it was a puppy. I understand they need training. I've had 4 dogs in my lifetime. They passed from old age and we still have our 13 year old girl. I understand the work that goes into training a dog. I understand the adjustment
