I adopted Nellie, a mini American shepherd, at the age of 1.5 - she had been recently removed from a home where she was physically abused. She was extremely fearful and reactive, often falling over and peeing when approached or asked to do something. She would not approach strangers, was very scared of men, and would bark at any small movements or noises inside and outside of our house. Every car, every person walking by, every cat, constant barking. She jumped up on everyone despite my attempts to curb that behavior. I was at my wit's end. A friend referred me to Gungho Dog Training in Ellensburg. I live in North Bend. My Jax, a 3 1/2 year old Rottie, and I were in desperate need of some obedience training. In fact; his life depended on it. We had the best experience with Cody. He and Ray worked with him daily for three weeks. Our second day home from training I was able to take Jax on a walk without him pulling me the entire way. That right there made the weekly trip to Ellensburg and training cost worth every penny. Cody is a very patient and well spoken teacher. He spent as much time as it took at each pickup training session to make sure I was comfortable with all Jax and me had learned. Our Berniedoodle, Hazel, was a typical misbehaved 5 month old puppy with two owners who had no idea what to do. Cody was amazing. He not only trained her, he trained us. It was like we had a new dog. Cody is so patient and calm with the dogs. We considered this training as an investment for a healthy and happy life with our Hazel. I highly recommend. 10/10. You won’t regret it.

Our family dog Max recently completed the 6 week day training program with Gungho Dog Training. We couldn’t be happier with the results! Cody and Micah provide an incredible training program. They are extremely knowledgeable, supportive, and patient. The program covers all the basic training commands sit, down, here, kennel, heel etc. in addition to any problem areas you would like them to focus on. All basic training tools are provide with the cost of the program with access to a comprehensive video training program. They are not just teaching your dog they are teaching you! Learning how to work with your dog is critical to your pets success. This was the best investment we could have made for Max’s happiness. An overall exceptional service. The 5-star reviews are correct, Gungho Dog Training is a true hidden gem when it comes to dog training. We sent our 7 month old pup Kobe for a 4-week board and train with Cody and Micah. The promises of the board and train were to teach basic obedience over 4 weeks by using time tested techniques tailored to our pup. The whole process was extremely professional and most importantly it didn't feel like our pup was just a number in a system. Kobie was genuinely happy and well cared for every time we visited for progress updates. Cody and Micah ran our pup through numerous distractions and guided us along every step of the way so we could maintain the obedience at home.
