We recently had to make the tough decision to put down our sick angel lab. The entire staff was extremely sensitive and accommodating with this difficult process, and sent a very thoughtful sympathy card after. I will always appreciate the way it was handled, and one day, when my heart will heal enough to consider another dog, I will surely use them for all my pet’s needs.

They killed our baby!! On January 22, 2026, I took my sweet boy for a check-in because he had a slight cough. The vet said they thought he may be developing CHF, and she wanted to start him on Lasix and a number of other meds and see how he did. She never said it was bad or dangerous, and knowing a lot about CHF, I knew he could have lived some time if we found he had it. She gave him a shot of Lasix and said, " If over the weekend you think he needs support, here is a brochure for a specialty vet in Hardeeville. She then sent us on our way. My poor boy seemed very lethargic and would not pee or stand, so I put him in the seat beside me and drove home. Within 10 minutes while driving home, he died from a heart attack. When I first moved to the area, I wasn’t sure where to bring my dog Penny for her teeth cleaning. Since they have to be anesthetized for this, I was very nervous and wanted to find a vet I was comfortable with. Pooler veterinary hospital said they would need to pull 5-6 teeth and that she didn’t really need her teeth and could get by just fine without them and with soft food. This definitely didn’t sit well with me and they seemed way too cavalier about just pulling a bunch of teeth out, especially since she is only 9 years old. Dr. Zack Nesbit and his staff are very caring people. It was my first time visit ,I bought in my cat who dislocated his paw joint bone and they took good care of him and put a splint and bandage. He’s compassionate, empathetic, and has provided the utmost care to all of my pets. During one of the most challenging times when my beloved Aussie became terminal, Dr. Howes was incredibly accommodating, and I’m eternally grateful for his support. I recently came to know Dr. Nesbit. My male cat had a urinary blockage that required emergency care. Dr. Nesbit took him under his care with little notice and with no hesitation.
