She has been our trusted veterinarian for our beloved standard poodle, Winston, and her dedication truly shines through in everything she does. From routine check-ups to unexpected health concerns, Dr. Gast always approaches Winston’s care with genuine compassion, expertise, and patience. She takes the time to thoroughly explain procedures and treatment options, making us feel confident and well-informed. Winston absolutely adores her, which speaks volumes about her gentle and caring nature. Best veterinarian in Valpo. Kat assisted us and was super nice, helpful and informative. Brought my dog in for itchy skin and then ended up getting him microchip. Staff is super helpful and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend. Way better than the Hobart animal clinic.

We have a 16 week Shorkie, Maverick. We decided to come to Gast based on great recommendations from others in the area. With the puppy shots, we have had several visits so far. Every time we are in and out. Today there was a small wait and we received nothing but apologies and Maverick even got a toy! This is great customer service. Not to mention Dr.Gast really knows her stuff and takes her time with our doggo.

I called a couple of days ago to set up an appointment for my cat for a Convenia shot because he is sneezing. This cat does not go outside or get boarded or groomed. The appointment was set for this morning at 8 o’clock. I confirmed that I didn’t need to see the doctor but just needed the Convenia shot for him. When I arrived to check in this morning the young lady advised me that since my cat has not been seen in a while that he would need to be evaluated by the doctor and have current blood work completed. When I asked how much that would cost I was advised that I would also need to have current vaccinations done before the doctor could see him because of state law. My hope of getting a shot of antibiotics for my cat was quickly dashed by the thought of having to spend hundreds of dollar
