First Gen Dog Training

First Gen Dog Training is amazing! We were struggling with our new puppy, it was starting to affect work. Then we found First Gen Dog Training. We started with a puppy consultation, then the two week board and train, then the two week off leash board and train. We are really glad we did, our dog Milo (Labrador Retriever) just turned 1 year old. He listens well and can even walk off leash. Devon really understands how to train dogs and more importantly how to train us to get the best possible outcome. His methods are solid and Milo loves going to day care to see him. Their training is a tremendous value. If your goal is to have a lovable dog that listens when you tell them to do something, in a quick amount of time, then you need to give them a call to hear what they are all about.

Devon is a top tier dog trainer. My European Doberman has always had severe separation anxiety issues, making it difficult to board her or leave her with trusted sitters. Devon was able train her and get these issues under control, while instilling obedience in her that has made her far more manageable and well behaved at home. When I travel, he is the only person I 100 percent trust to board her with. I know that she is loved and cared for while I am away. I strongly recommend him to anyone who needs basic to advance training for their pets or to anyone looking to board their dog while they travel. He is genuinely invested in all the dogs he works with and provides the utmost care for them.

We adopted our German Shepherd puppy, Izzy, at 2 months old. She began training with Devan at First Gen Dog Training at 3 months. To be honest, Izzy has been different from most pups & training started pretty rough. We joked that Izzy was broken. She was not normal in her interests. We couldn't get her to engage in play. She wouldn't play with toys, she wouldn't chase a ball, etc, which made it hard to exercise her before training sessions. All she wanted to do was explore, eat rocks/sticks, & bite arms. Our first session with Devan proved to be difficult. Devan made a joke later saying she was the first puppy he thought he'd have to refund. He said she had the attention span of a butterfly. Devon has been great with our rescue. She was almost uncontrollable before we started training and now she's well behaved and understands our commands. Devon also taught my wife and I the proper way to train, which helped more than anything.

Devan has been the best for us and our dog Sadie! We chose to have our 11 month mini bernedoodle do the board and train. When we picked up Sadie she was a completely changed dog. Devan worked so hard teaching her the commands and obedience. One of the best things about Devan is he also showed us as a family the 4 steps of his training and how to be effective in the training at home. Even after training he is there to answer our questions and help continue encouraging Sadie throughout the process. We highly recommend Devan and are so thankful we found him!
