Finan Animal Hospital

Nobody likes going to the vet (see: picture) – but Finan makes it hurt the least. I’ve never (1) had to wait well past my appointment time, (2) been surprised by a bill – because they give you a very accurate estimate at the start of the appointment, (3) felt like the doctors were unhappy or unqualified and (4) felt like I was sold something I didn’t need. Finan has a beautiful practice, incredibly kind staff, and I love their attention to detail. The fact our two dogs get peanut butter or whipped cream at their visit is just the cherry on top. I also love the fact they called me after I had to take my older dog to another practice’s emergency room just to check on him and then also called us a week after we got our new puppy just to check and see how it is going. Michelle and Dr Testolin really make our newest little fur baby's day when he comes in for his puppy visits. Oliver really hams it up for extra attention. Taking their time with him works to calm him down so his care is well managed while at the hospital. We are always well informed and part of the care process if or when needed, could not ask for a better staff than the Finan team.

I’m so grateful to the team at Finan for the patience and kindness they showed during my anxious pup’s very first visit. Nothing felt rushed — they carefully walked through every concern I had and made a genuine effort to help my dog relax and feel safe. Even better, I was able to get an appointment within days instead of waiting weeks like at other clinics I’ve used. And on top of that, their pricing was noticeably more affordable than other veterinary practices. A rare combo: compassionate care, actual availability, and fair cost.

I liked how the building has a separate entrance for cats and dogs. The inside is very open, and you are greeted by welcoming and friendly staff. I appreciated how they took the time to thoroughly explain everything to me and gave me different options. I was impressed by how they could read Hank and what causes him more stress. For example, Hank does not like to be restrained, held tight by strangers, and they picked up on that right away and took the steps to make him more comfortable and less stressed. At my last visit with my prior Vet, they restrained him while placing a towel around his neck to hold him up and another towel to cover his face, and he went into a full-blown panic. We decided to try Finan after a not so positive visit with the VCA in Bolingbrook…and OMG, what a difference! Not only is the staff unbelievably friendly and welcoming, but even the cost of the visit was much lower. They showed care and interest in my dog - the vet even got on the floor to love on her! Each person who came in contact with her showed her love and attention. It was wonderful! I’m so thankful I found Finan!
