Feathers and Furs Animal Hospital in La Mesa is truly exceptional. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the care my dog has received here—especially from Dr. G. She is incredibly talented, deeply knowledgeable, and genuinely compassionate. Her ability to thoughtfully integrate both Western and Eastern medicine is rare, and it’s clear how much intention and expertise she brings to every decision. Dr. G has been nothing short of amazing with my 17-year-old terrier mix, Moose and his younger brother from another mother Gunnar. She is unbelievably gentle, patient, and loving with them, always taking the time to ensure they are comfortable and cared for as individuals, not just patients. We have been going to Feather and Fur Animal Hospital for years now and highly recommend the practice. Dr. G and Dr. B are both extremely knowledgeable and show the utmost respect and care for our Goldendoodle. Our primary vet, Dr. G, explains each procedure and the reasoning behind treatment, which I find very reassuring. Anytime we are on the fence about selecting a certain treatment, Dr. G has kept our budget in mind and been accommodating to find the best option for our family. She truly cares about our dog! I also want to mention that the front desk staff and technicians are also always super kind and helpful. They always greet us warmly and provide prompt service. We have been to numerous vets in the past and are so grateful for the entire staff at Feather and Fur.

Feathers and Fur Animal Hospital and more specifically Dr. G are hands down the best veterinary hospital and veterinarian. They are all so compassionate and caring not only for your animal but the owner as well. They took care of my dog and treated him like their own all the way to the end. Dr. G is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, I’ve never met a better vet. I will not go anywhere else and can not recommend them enough.

I was so happy to find a very skilled and well loved Avian Veterinarian that was recommended to me by a friend. Three years later, I am loyal with the same veterinarian. Dr. Athena Gianopoulos (AKA Dr.G). She is an outstanding Veterinarian and person (a great combo). You aren’t just a number here you are treated like family and your pet as her own! First impressions count! Staff has always been very welcoming and professional from day one. I’ve been to other Avian Veterinarian’s in San Diego County , but Dr.G /Feathers and Fur Animal Hospital will always be recommended to all my friends and family every time.

We have been using feathers and fur for 5 years now for our dog and cat. My experience has always been great. Great level of care and the staff and customer service has always gone above and beyond. We recommend them to anyone with pets. We get vaccination reminders and follow ups after service. We’re always met with a plan of action that is based on our level of necessary and not over sold unnecessary additional care.
