I cannot say enough good things about The Animal Pad. From the very first conversation, their team genuinely listened to what I needed in a dog and helped me find the perfect rescue that matched my lifestyle, personality, and living situation. They were thoughtful, transparent, and clearly committed to making sure both the dog and adopter were the right fit. The adoption process was organized and supportive, and you can tell they truly care about the well being of every animal they save. The dog I adopted has completely changed my life. I have volunteered with, fostered and adopted from The Animal Pad over the past few years. They are the best and rescue a ton of dogs with major medical needs that most other rescues would turn down. Highly recommend!

I applied to adopt and the adoption agency took forever to reach back out to me only to tell me that they did not think the animals were a good fit for me without even giving me a formal meeting in person or calling me, ever. I'm not really sure if they are actually trying to help these animals find new homes but it's somewhat clear that they are not efficient at what they do. I have been a fantastic dog owner and have raised litters of puppies from pit bulls to Pomeranians and cats and have fostered for various nonprofits and the Humane Society. This rescue deemed a request unfit without even calling or meeting with me at all. Not sure how they determined this but they could try harder to actually place animals in their care

Anyone else hearing weird things about the care at Animal Pad? Was thinking about volunteering/fostering after we had just taken out a bunch of crates and blankets... it was kind of a big mess out front... everything was just stacked in piles. I was doing some on line research and came across some pretty disturbing reviews previous fosters and volunteers posted on Reddit. Like this one: I've volunteered with The Animal Pad for a long time. TAP thinks it's acceptable to house some of their dogs in crates 24/7. Behavioral dogs are left in a crate in a back room by themselves. If the dog is lucky, they will be able to get out 2x/ a day for a few minutes. Some behavioral dogs aren't fed regularly and end up pooping in their crate because they're left alone for so long. This sweet thing came to me with a litter of pups to help care for until they found their forever home. Most wouldn’t be able to resist the little pups, but I fell in love with Momma Kate and became what is known as a foster failure. I just couldn’t let her go. I’m so thankful for TAP for bringing Kate into my life. The rescue and their volunteers work tirelessly to find amazing permanent homes for all dogs. They make certain they are in safe homes until they can be vetted to their permanent families. It is unbelievable and so rare to find a group of volunteers so dedicated to helping home what would otherwise be helpless, homeless and starving dogs.
