Duffy's Friends

After loosing our 14 year old cat to cancer in May, we wanted to look for a new addition to our family. We found Duffy's and reached out about a kitten. We gave her all the information she asked for and filled out the application. She brought the kitten to our house to see how he would be with our animals. We had a room all set up for him so he could adapt with everything he would need. They couldn't find my house and took us a long time to have them get here after very clear directions. The owner and foster mom finally arrive. They bring the kitten inside the cat room. While the owner is talking to my husband, the fostermom walks my house with me..not with the kitten she's been with. The owner opens the cat carrier and naturally the kitten hides. I have adopted a wonderful little friend from Duffy's Friends. I really love their procedures checking on a number of things that are extremely important that many people don't think about when adopting a pet. They are extremely thorough with doing a check of the home that they will be living in and the surroundings to be sure that they won't escape and possibly be killed. They are sure if you have another pet your other pet and the one that you are welcoming into your home get along. I love my Molly she is who I adopted from Duffy's friend. I totally understood their process after having her in my home for a while. I would first like to say that this organization is all about doing what’s best for these dogs. I would also like to state that the woman I spoke to was very professional. Next, I will tell you that I was denied as an applicant for one of their dogs. It is their policy that you must have a fenced yard. I respect that. I live in the country, but I don’t have a fenced yard. I was disappointed, but still okay with it. They do so much good for the dogs that they rescue. Their policy does not take away from that. Keeping dogs as safe as possible is extremely important. Thank you Duffy’s for caring!

Twelve years my wife and I adopted the most wonderful beagle from Duffy Friends, "Lady Jane". Leah from Duffy's Friends named her and it was perfect! Lady Jane is now fifteen and in her retirement years, and we must thank Duffy's Friends for rescuing such a perfect family member. Yes, they have standards but that's okay. They want to ensure that their rescue's have happy and safe lives. Lady Jane is a gem; we do not know who rescued whom. "Working together to match homeless pets with loving families". That is what Duffy's Friends do!

My mother-in-law and I both received wonderful dogs from Duffy's Friends and we both highly recommend them. We were both so impressed with them that we offered to help out whenever possible connecting with any applicants in our area. Keep up the great work Duffy's Friends! You're the best!
