Dogtopia of Lakewood - Alameda Parkway

I can’t believe I haven’t written a review sooner because we absolutely love this Dogtopia location. As someone who worked in a pet daycare environment, I know how stressful transitions in ownership or management can be. With Phil leading the way, everything has felt smooth, organized, and genuinely welcoming from day one coming from a customers stand point. When we first arrived as new clients, Phil took the time to introduce himself and walk me through the entire process. He explained how our baby girl would be safely introduced to the pack, the spay timeline required for continued daycare since she was still a puppy, the activity-tracking bark collar, and every little detail in between. I am so pleased with Dogtopia Lakewood. The staff is the best! I wholeheartedly trust my chocolate lab to their care. The staff aren't just dog sitters, they are trained coaches. My lab is always so excited when she sees the storefront and loves all of her caregivers.

I've been taking my dog Opal to Dogtopia Lakewood - Alameda for the past few months, and the improvements with my dog's behavior and mental health have been nothing short of a miracle. Before starting daycare at Dogtopia, my dog was extremely anxious around other dogs, when going out to unfamiliar places, and just generally with anything new in her environment. She had such high anxiety that it could become aggression when her emotions were too tested. In fact, Dogtopia trainers were on the fence at first about whether to approve Opal to go there. I am very grateful that they did ultimately say yes, and since then they have worked with Opal on each visit to help bring her out of her shell, become comfortable around other dogs and people, and just become a more well-adjusted dog. We absolutely love Dogtopia! This is the only place I would trust with my dog. All the workers are so kind and caring, and my dog has a great time every time he goes! I also love using the cameras to see him having fun with the other dogs. I highly recommend!

I have been taking my small, 4 lb Russian Toy to this daycare since August, and I can’t speak highly enough about the staff here and my experience as a pet owner! Being so small, my pup sometimes needs specific things, like regular play breaks during longer days, and the staff have been so accommodating ensuring that my pup stays happy, safe and not overwhelmed by the daycare environment. We attend by the week and when we have had to miss days, like traveling or when he was neutered, the staff immediately paused our membership ensuring I wasn’t charged for days my dog didn’t attend. If you are a looking for a safe place to take your dog with a staff that truly cares about the dogs in their care, this is the place for you and your furbaby!
