Dodger’s Paws is THE BEST place for dog training in the Bay Area. We drive here from Oakland twice a week for barn hunt and urban locating classes and the drive is 1000% worth it. I wish we had done puppy class here too!! As a dog sport person who identifies as force-free / R+ only, I deeply appreciate the training philosophy behind Dodger’s Paws. I cannot recommend Martha and her business more highly. 🐾❤️
Great dog training here. Love the trainers and their positive attitudes. So many different classes to suit your dog’s desires!
Hands down the most fabulous dog training I have ever attended. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and takes each dog and their personalities into account before giving you recommendations. I was blown away by my dogs progress. Also, if your are a nervous or insecure dog owner this place will make you feel right at home and never embarrassed! This was huge for me! They genuinely care about your relationship with your dog and how to help you become a team! I recommend this place to everyone I know for every type of dog/puppy need! Animal Expert Rochelle is truly a gift to puppy and human kind!
Did not work for our German Shepherd puppy. First of all, unlike other puppy classes we were put in individual pens along with our puppy with very little space to move. And if your dog is not food motivated then this class will not work because everything rotates around treats. I heard that training is supposed to be fun but after two classes I just couldn’t get myself to go back and so we dropped out. May work for smaller breeds. We had to forgo the money and it is not cheap so do your research before you decide on this place!
I would not recommend Dodger's Paws for introductory puppy classes. During one of the classes we took here, the trainer took a loud, rattling toy and drove it around the classroom full of puppies. This was touted as 'practice getting our dogs back when they get overstimulated', but there was very little instruction on how to actually accomplish this. All it seemed to do was scare most of the dogs in the class, and it devolved into every dog in the class barking at the toy while the owners tried in vain to call the dogs back. The trainer did multiple laps with this toy very close to the individual sections the dogs were in, which only scared them more. Since this class, our dog has been more scared of the children's toys he's interacted with on the street despite previously having no issue
