I wish I could say I finally found a vet that was all that I was looking for, but since my long time vet retired, that's been impossible. This place was quite decorative and the desk girls were nice but I though it was a bit uncommon and peculiar that all my dog's tests were in the back and that made me uncomfortable. The vet struck me as impersonal and seemed nothing as much as determined to get as much out of my bank account as possible. In less than 30 minutes, they were all ready to charge me over $500. How did I even know if they did what they were charging me for? She said he was anemic and that pretty much means terminal. i brought in my 3 year old guinea pig who was showing pain. The Dr did a xray and found that he had 2 kidney stones. i was heartbroken because i’ve never lost a pet before and i considered this little man my son and would do absolutely anything for him. They gave me some pain medicine to help him and we scheduled his surgery the next morning. My boy had to fast overnight and couldn’t eat anything after midnight. i noticed in the morning he didn’t have any bowel movement at all and i rushed in the next morning right as they opened and told the receptionist that he didn’t use the restroom at all last-night even after i gave him his dinner veggie meal that night around 8. After owning her for a little over a year, she started to decline rapidly and stopped eating, walking and running on her wheel. I took my little hedgie to Dayton South and the veterinarian was compassionate and straightforward in diagnosing her with wobbly hedgehog syndrome. The kind doctor gently asked me questions and provided me with a great deal of information in terms of how I could better care for her. I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Brauer and Dr.Schumacher for a year now and every time I go in I have an amazing experience! The girls at the front desk are always so cheery and welcoming. The back staff is very knowledgeable and always do a great job handling my babies and going over medication directions with me in a way I understand. Both Drs are full compassion and great information. They always explain in easy to understand detail what the issue at hand is and how they would like to handle it. I love everyone there and would never think of going to another vet! I recommend them to anyone that is in need of a fantastic, reliable vet.
