Dr. Michelle Nguyen and the entire team at CVCA were incredible during one of the most heartbreaking times of our lives. After our regular vet misdiagnosed our dog and told us she had days to live, we came to CVCA for a second opinion. While her condition came on quickly without warning and is terminal, CVCA confirmed the original diagnosis was incorrect and that the prior medications were not helping. Their revised diagnosis and treatment plan gave us more quality time with our beloved dog — including the ability to celebrate this Christmas with her, complete with special treats and opening presents. My rescue kitten that I had for four days almost died the day after Thanksgiving. Late that night, I rushed her to Mason Dixon Emergency Pet Hospital. They stabilized her. I was told she had a congenital heart failure and heart heart was enlarged. They recomended I take her to CVCA for a cardiologist to determine the cause. The DRs at CVCA, two cardiologists spent more time than I was told it would take to examine her they did so to be sure of their diagnosis. Both agreed that she did not have a mechanical heart problem, it was Miacarditis caused by severe stress. Huge shout out to the CVCA team in Hunt Valley! I brought Willow in for his recheck echocardiogram and although he was angry to be there, Kira, Dr. Tam, and team made sure he got through the ten minutes he was forced to spend with them. Willow has HCM with a history of CHF, and CKD. This November I’ll get to celebrate his 14th birthday, and I’m so thankful to the team for helping him achieve that. Highly recommend!!

I can not say enough good things about the care my dog Ollie received here. Ollie lived a much longer and more full life than expected because of the care Dr. Shih and the staff provided. If any issues arised with Ollie, there was prompt response with recommendations. This promt response allowed us to keep Ollie as comfortable as possible through his heart failure. I can credit the team here for giving us more special time with our best friend. They are truly angels here on earth.
