Took Ruby out for a walk yesterday. She is the cutest, friendliest well behaved dog and I am sure she'd be a great addition to any family! Walked for 5 miles at Phinizy...and she was asleep at the backseat when driving back. My 1st time at AAS for a Doggy Day Out and will certainly be back for more walks!! Friendly and super helpful staff.

I brought a super sweet dog in that was a stray and had an unregistered microchip. I had him with me overnight and he was super friendly, not at all food aggressive, and just wanted to be around people. I brought him to the shelter because they told me they would be able to find his owner through the chip manufacturer. I told them when I dropped him off that I wanted him back if they couldn’t find the owner and was told that they would call me. I kept checking their website to see if he was found by his owner or put up for adoption. I called a few times too but never got connected to anyone or called back. About 3 weeks after I dropped him off he was completely gone from the website. I finally received a call back today they euthanized the dog for aggressive behavior but would not elaborat

I had great experience. 3 ppl asked me if I needed help while I waited for my mom to use their restroom. The fee to adopt a kitten was only 20 bucks and that included spayed and microchipped! You can help out so many fur babies and not break your pocket, going back today to adopt second cat from there!

Facility and staff are well kept, animals cared for and clean. What is disappointing is the first-come-first-served policy where a walk in that says they are picking up a dog for someone else gets to fill out adoption paperwork before even meeting the dog in question, when a family has brought their toddler and other dog for a meet and greet to determine compatibility, emailed the day before and morning of to confirm intent to visit, and arriving 10 minutes before doors open. There should be common sense that prepared actual families get presidence over an unknown destination home with no contact by the presuming owner, only payment through a proxy deliver person.

Ok, I want to start by saying I got the sweetest most loving dog from this place. She has been amazing and I’m thankful I found her. Now the negative, which starts as soon as I walk in. The older man at the desk doesn’t greet me, just stares at me like I’m an idiot, after a bit he asks what I want. I pull up and picture of the dog I wanted to meet and he proceeds to very rudely tell me that “this doesn’t absolutely nothing for me, do you have the animal ID”. Now I understand him not being able to use the picture, but the tone in his voice was very condescending and rude. I say no, that no where is the animal ID posted on Facebook (where I found this picture) and to my suprise, he was magically able to find the dog! (Shocking right?) The girl who took me out to meet the dog was very nice a
