We used to love coming to this vet clinic, until our last visit, I have a german shepherd who has been coming to this vet since he was a puppy, this was the breeders vet so I decided to keep him there, I live in Annapolis and I thought it was worth the drive since they knew him from birth basically, it wasn’t until a year half ago, I made an appointment to have his vaccines and a paper sign for a new place I was moving in, the day of the visit the vet was 45mins late because his car battery died, I didn’t say anything because things happens, all this 45 mins we were waiting my dog did not bark at any of the techs he was just laying down being a good boy, when the vet finally arrived you could see he was already in a bad mood, he came in check my dog, even checked his teeth by putting his

I am devastated and feel compelled to share this to protect other pet owners. Years ago, my first dog suffered because the care and medications weren’t handled properly, leading to his passing. I gave them another chance, hoping it was isolated. Last Thursday, I rushed my second dog in as an emergency—he was in clear respiratory distress with coughing that sounded serious. They quickly diagnosed it as allergies and sent us on our way with minimal intervention. No X-rays were taken, no deeper diagnostics performed—nothing to confirm or rule out something more urgent like kennel cough (which this turned out to be). The wrong diagnosis meant delayed real treatment, unnecessary suffering, and ultimately, we lost him. Kennel cough is treatable with the right approach, but without basic tools li

Our puppy is one year old now and it was about time to get established with a local vet. I have never really had a good experience with a vet in the past, so I was anxious to pick the right one. Chesapeake Veterinary Hospital made a great impression on me right away. I had filled out a new patient form online and the very same day, I received a friendly call asking if I wanted to schedule an appointment for my pup. They had great availability. I expected to be waiting for a while for a new patient exam but they got me in right away! On the day of my appointment I was initially nervous to discuss costs. I have had a vet in the past tell me, “Welp, your dollar, your dog,” and have been shamed for questioning whether “routine” tests were really necessary, and for wanting to shop around ra

This animal hospital is the Best we have Ever experienced! We had to have our Bella put down here and they did everything with respect and dignity. The whole staff offered their condolences. Also, the cremation service was very professional. We received Bella’s boxed remains & they even included a separate box with her paw print! We never had an experience like this with our previous cat. Fully recommend this facility for your animal care!

They have treated me and my babies with the utmost care, respect and love that you could hope for. My baby had a herniated disc and instead of sending me elsewhere to some impersonal vet er, they stayed late and made sure he was in as little pain as possible. It's easy to find a vet for your babies but it's much much harder to find somewhere like Chesapeake Veterinary Hospital that cares for your babies like they were their own. Unless I relocate far out of the area, I will never go anywhere else.
