I used to bring my dogs here because I love Dr. Black. And because I loved Dr. Black, I was tolerant of how rude every single member of the office staff is. They are all incredibly rude, unconcerned, and at times frankly, just plain bitchy. Once Dr. Black left, I decided I was no longer tolerating this, and I found another vet who has more availability is open more reasonable hours, and the staff is far more friendly, which is frankly a rather low bar. I have noticed that you have many reviews regarding how simply unpleasant, nasty rude short and bitchy your office staff are, and yet you just don’t seem to do anything about it as I called today and received the same treatment in requesting some records for my dog. I’ve been a client for a while & i have been seeing the new docs & tbh I wasn’t sure at first cause new Doc seem to immediately question our diagnosis. When looking at new X-rays/ imaging on a CHF heart enlargement pup, we were referred to cardiac specialist & and they confirmed doc was right, no CHF, no enlargement ( he was also having seziures on the heart med ) so we stopped heart meds readjusting treatment and I went from so upset to sooo grateful 🥹 this new younger female Doc ( I think she’s new, new to me :) she knows her stuff and has done more for us then she even knows, she also called me after hours personally to explain X-rays ect, I’m SOO impressed …

I absolutely love this place! We’ve taken all 3 of our fur babies here for various appt’s and the Dr and staff are So great!

It's been one month since our Golden Retriever baby boy passed unexpectedly. He was only one year, four months old. He went in for neutering on Wednesday January 7th, 2026. We picked him up that evening and he didn't seem himself, although he just had surgery. The rest of that evening at home he was groggy. He ate a very small portion of food with help and drank some water. The next morning on Thursday, he was the same. I’ve been taking my dog to Canyon Road Vet for 4 years, and unfortunately the quality of care and customer service has gone downhill significantly. There is a noticeable lack of urgency and compassion, even when situations clearly require prompt attention. The clinic has written inaccurate notes about my dog’s behavior, labeling him as reactive in situations where he was not behaving that way at all. This kind of misinformation not only affects how staff treats him, but also raises questions about how carefully they observe and document their patients. They have suggested sedatives for my dog when they were absolutely unnecessary, instead of taking the time to properly assess what was going on.
