Burleson Equine Hospital

We haven’t been to Burleson Equine in several years due to moving but yesterday my barrel mare started to go down pretty quickly at our barn in Cleburne. Burleson Equine answered so quickly and got a team out to our barn so fast. The exam and treatment was so thorough and nothing was missed. They took the all time with my mare while still moving quickly. Post care instructions were clear, and if needed to call again they could handle it and what to do if she does become surgical to get her to another facility. She’s doing great this morning and did not have to be hospitalized or have surgery. And to be completely honest? For an emergency barn call? The cost was NOT bad and well worth it. Very thankful for yall!

Burleson Equine has been taking care of our horses for years. We're always brought in to the exam room quickly and they do a great job diagnosing any problems and their rates are very reasonable. For my most recent visit we suspected cellulitis and I called late in the afternoon. I got in next day and left with everything we needed.

I brought my horse in for an appointment with Burleson Equine on 4/26/25 where Dr.Thompson attempted a fine needle aspiration, on a tumor to send off culture results to determine what type of cancer she has so we could decide what medication to treat with. After calling on 5/5/25 for my results I was told not enough fluid was drawn during the examination from the tumor sight and was left with inconclusive results on the testing, after spending $950. Where Burleson Equine proceeded to tell me I need to come in and pay for a second vet visit to do a biopsy. I then decided to followed up with my original vet to finish treatment, where I went in and he also recommended a fine needle aspiration where he drew the correct amount of fluid/ tissue and we were able to send it off to culture and got

Dr. Armentrout, is the absolute best! She saved my 2 and 4yr old daughter's pony! I can't thank her enough for not giving up on our our little Shoot'n Star! We are so thankful for everything she and the techs did. 100% would recommend to anyone in need. ❤
