We purchased a German shorthaired pointer pup and bit off a little more than we could chew. We were blessed to come across Derek. His reviews were amazing and now we know why. Derek is not just a trainer. He truly has a gift and connection with dogs. He has given not only our dog the freedom she needs but us as well. Freedom to enjoy our dog instead of being overwhelmed by her energy. Derek’s techniques, encouragement and overall ability to help you and your dog have a safe, respectful and fun relationship is just mind blowing. Look no further. He’s the man for the job! Thank you is just not enough.

Derek is a magnificent dog trainer, coach and overall person. I highly recommend him and his services. He helped my sister and I understand our dogs better and taught us how to be better leaders for our dogs. The humans definitely needed the help and Derek was there to give us the tools and guide us to be successful. I learned a lot from his private lessons and have an appreciation for the depth of his knowledge that he has for dogs and training. We have a multi dog home and our two boys have gotten into scuffles and fights the last year. We reached out to Derek for help to have a neutral home since we were out of our depth and we worked on obedience with both dogs and figured out the best plan to aim towards having both dogs neutral in our home. Great experience, my dog Ginger made so much progress thanks to Derek. She had leash issues & dog aggression/reactivity. Now she no longer has aggression and likes to meet new dogs. Derek and his dog, Dash, were great in helping her with this behavior.

Derek was absolutely fantastic! We hired him to help train our 1.5 year old American lab and we have had the best results. We did the 6 week package and received training for all basic commands. We worked in our home and out in the community and got the support we needed in between. We know that we can call Derek if ever we have an issue in the future. We have already referred friends and highly recommend him!

We just completed six weeks of training with Derek and had an awesome experience. Our day-to-day relationship with our dog Rocket has improved exponentially! Prior to training with Derek our home was filled with gates and Rocket was being crated more than we liked for management purposes — we couldn’t even relax as a family to enjoy a movie or dinner without removing her from the equation. Derek taught us foundational commands and how to lead her calmly with intention. Now Rocket is fully integrated into our home which has been incredibly rewarding and exactly what we hoped. We plan to continue building Rocket’s (and our) skills in new environments, and to book more training with Derek this summer!
