Barkin' Beauties

I have taken my dog here for over a year for grooming, and we adopted a new dog in June from our local shelter. She is such a sweet girl but can be a little spooked by new things, so we started slowly at home with pet wipes instead of a full bath. She learned to love those, but when we tried giving her a shower, we quickly realized she was terrified and stopped immediately because we didn’t want her to have a bad experience. We started taking her to Barkin Beauties for nail trims, and they just know exactly how to handle her in a calm, patient way without making it stressful. I recently booked a grooming appointment, and while I was waiting to pick her up, they sent me videos showing how well she was doing. She was so calm! I have a mini Schnauzer but they clipped her to look more like a poodle. Horrible job! And then they said they called when she was done, but they must have mis-dialed because I did not get a call. Consequently, they charged me a $40 late pick-up fee. They refused to look at the call log on my phone when I tried to show them that I did not receive their call. She kept screaming at me! I should have made her take me to court to collect that outrageous "late pick-up" fee!

This is the 3rd time I’ve have my dog groomed here and they do a great job! She never comes home stressed and walks right in. We were late picking her up but they were super accommodating and we’re also able to squeeze her in when they had a cancellation. We’ve also had our cavalier groomed here and they did a good job! Definitely the best place in Watertown to get your dog groomed!

Really disappointed. We've taken our dogs here for a while and our most recent appointment is going to be our last. One of our dogs looks great, they did exactly what we asked. However, with our other dog, (same build, same breed) they didn't cut her hair the way we asked. They didn't cut her hair really at all and their excuse was that they didn't have time...which, sure, that's unfortunate, but don't charge me $200 for work you didn't perform. Not only that, but they were rude on the phone and acted like we were inconveniencing them for giving them our business. If they couldn't do what we asked, tell us upfront. Don't charge me the full amount for work not performed. Have better customer service. Again, just really disappointed. Won't be returning. I don't like leaving negative re

I was devastated when I saw my dog after his last grooming. I asked for a medium cut, and they nearly shaved him all the way down. He's a cockapoo, and he acted differently, almost ashamed, for 2 days afterward. I had to put a sweater on him to stay warm - in AUGUST! You could see his skin through some of his fur and bald spots under his arms. He's only 1, he's not thinning hair from age. Staff was very standoffish when I picked him up. They couldn't wait for me to get out of there. I'll never go back.
