The Appalachian K9 Training Center is located. The Owner and operator is Sandy Pope. Some history about the training center, it was originally started as a Hobby, and they (and the Dogs) competed in various sports in 1995. Some years later, they opened to the public and opened AK9 Training Center in 2001. Sandy is the proud owner of Dobermans. They have helped pets and their Handlers for years, pets of various Breeds. Sandy is very uplifting when it comes to helping others with their pets. They offer Private Classes to Dog owners. To my understanding, they also run a Small Dog Kennel as well to boarding pets. The AK9 Training Center is Handicap/Wheelchair accessible, their Staff is friendly & helpful. Leave us a Like (below) if you read the review.
5 stars are for above and beyond. App. K-9 nailed it. Working in conjunction with Tennessee Valley Rescue. My family took the time to drive from Atlanta to Knoxville and could not be happier. After spending much time and effort looking we adopted Max a gentle giant. Thanks again for taking the time to answer all of our questions and allowing us time with several dogs to ensure we were the correct fit for each other.
Sandy Poe is an excellent trainer. She's great with dogs, has a good staff, and her prices are reasonable (unlike the allegedly best in-house training facility in Knoxville). She's strict and also very compassionate; she just seems to know what my dog needs. I wouldn't leave my baby girl with anyone else in this city. I am not easy to please, especially re my dog; however, I could not possibly recommend her more any more highly.
I was a very worried mama with my 1.5 year old lab Harley. He had never been to a boarding facility or in a kennel. Sandy was extremely patient with me and answered all my questions. I took him his first day yesterday and he did amazing! He even got to play with a few dogs. I think I was the one that needed to be trained not to worry so much. I highly recommend Appalachian K9 training center!!! I felt silly when I left for worrying so much.. I will now be bringing Harley every week for daycare and boarding him here from here on out! What a relief to find a spot that cares and takes very good care of your fur babies! Thank you Sandy!
We have been using A K-9 for training, boarding and grooming since we moved to the Knoxville area in 2009. Most recently, Sandy and her staff spoiled our 8-year old Doberman for 10 days while we were on vacation. Our dogs always come home happy, and ready to return to A K-9 for their next adventure. Sandy and her staff are always ready to answer any questions we have, and have helped us through any number of training issues over the years. Cannot recommend them more highly.
