We unfortunately had an awful experience with this shelter. My family had been hoping to adopt and give a home to a new pet after losing our dog to cancer last year. He passed over the weekend before we were able make it to his euthanasia appointment on Monday. Instead of letting us explain our situation, the AWL sent back-to-back emails accusing us of being unfit parents who didn’t care about the wellbeing our beloved dog. They claimed that we would therefore be unfit to care for any pet in the future. We had to relive the trauma of losing our dog last year by reading such hurtful emails. I am really sad that this was our experience here. We would’ve loved to give one of these beautiful animals a home.

My daughter volunteers at this no kill, cage free shelter for cats. Every time, she wants to bring a new cat home. It is the most loving place for a cat without a home. They are well cared for and the staff is great.

I adopted the sweetest cat from the lovely folks at the Animal Welfare League. The volunteers and staff were all incredibly kind and welcoming and made the process simple and easy to follow. It was obvious to me the cats were loved and well cared for. I was able to get a lot of great information involving the cat's prior care and needs, and I would also say the folks at the Animal Welfare League did an excellent job in accurately describing the cat on the website prior to adoption. If you're thinking of adopting a cat, I couldn't recommend these folks enough!

Great set up for the cats...open rooms, huge 2 story multi-"room" kennels for when needed, windows for entertainment. And the staff is equally impressive. New pics of latest additions to our family below.

This place is extremely sketchy. They promised to keep me updated on how my cat was doing after I surrendered him. They ignored my emails and calls and it makes me nervous that this place is up to something bad. I hope that they have good intentions for the animals that are surrendered here but I’m not confident that’s the case. The person I dealt with was Harold.
