I could not more highly recommend Dr Jacovino and his wonderful team (Haley and Simone) for their care of my cat Zoe. Zoe had a fast growing bladder tumor that we fought to stay ahead of before it blocked her kidneys. The outcome was uncertain at times but Dr Jacovino stayed positive and always encouraging. We amended her radiation treatments to include hours on an IV to get her kidneys in the best state possible. He fit us into his busy schedule to double up on radiation treatment one week so we could give her the best chance possible. Zoe is now two weeks past the radiation treatments and is doing great at home. The waiting room at AVSC becomes a family. You to get know all the pet parents and their beloved pets who are going through the same circumstances as you are. We shared our journ
Over the years I have owned many animals. I've also spent much time rescuing wildlife. I have visited dozens of veterinary offices, clinics, hospitals and wildlife centers during this time. I have never been so impressed by the consistency of care. From the front desk to the Doctor and everyone in between, the attentive staff and genuine vibe is what makes this business superior to every other. I am so grateful to have this kind of support so close to home. I never felt that I was being rushed. It was actually quite the opposite. The receptionist had spent so much time with me during my initial call I had no interest in exploring any other options. He was phenomenal and the best representation of what to expect with the rest of the staff.
Our cat BJ was diagnosed with lymphoma after having a tumor removed at Westbridge. Our initial impressions of AVS were really positive and we opted for chemo after getting a full explanation of our options. The vet and staff were very kind and the tech even got back to us on a weekend when our baby was having issues with nausea post-chemo treatment. However, we came in for what ended up being our last chemo treatment and we agreed to hold off as he wasn’t doing well. An hour after returning home our cat had a seizure and I called AVS. The fellow at the front desk talked to our vet who apparently just told him to pass on a message to go to emergency. We never heard a peep from them again. No follow up even though we had subsequent appointments. No call to see what happened. We did receive a
Convenient that you can text when you have concerns. My experience might be impacted by the bad diagnosis that we received that the vets can’t really do anything for (neurology) but I feel like from the beginning we did not get much of a description or any idea what to expect or things we could do. I had to google everything. We got a blood test for DM and it came back positive for both genes and they recommended an MRI. Initially my husband and I were not going to get the MRI but then after talking to the vet a few times they gave us a little hope it could be something else so we did it. Looking back I wish we didn’t do it. I feel like as a specialist based on the blood results and my dogs symptoms the vet should have been able to tell what it was.
My 9 year old yellow lab was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on his thyroid I brought him to Advanced Veterinary Specialty Center for a surgical consultation with Dr. Cara Blake. The entire staff was wonderful. I felt my anxiety level decrease immediately. Dr. Blake explained everything and patiently answered my questions. The surgery went smoothly and my dog recovered nicely. Amanda and Katie were very responsive to questions I had post op and as a result, Wilson is doing great!! He’s like a different dog!! He’s relaxed and his energy level is much better. I can’t say enough about the care he received and the results he is expecting!! I highly recommend AVSC!! Thank you for giving Wilson a good quality of life!!
