I live in WI and when it became clear to me that my local vet was not adept in treating heart worms, I was referred by a friend to Dr. Mallorie Enk and I am so beyond grateful that I found her! I traveled from WI to Wheaton to treat with Dr. Enk and it was well worth the miles. She is absolutely incredible and hands down one of the smartest, most knowledgable and skilled veterinarians I have come across in my 30+ years of being a pet parent. Very disappointing and concerning experience. After paying for extensive diagnostics, including lab work with clearly abnormal values, the primary focus of this clinic was repeatedly pushing an expensive prescription diet for a 8 lbs $78 bag of dog kibble, rather than addressing the actual medical findings or symptoms that brought us in. Requests for clarification and discussion of the lab abnormalities were met with defensiveness rather than explanation. Instead of offering a diagnostic plan or symptom management, the clinic defaulted to referral — despite this being a condition that is routinely evaluated and treated by competent general practitioners. I brought my dog here for almost 10 years and we always received exceptional care. I especially recommend Dr. Cole. While I’m sure he is very busy, he will always take time to answer your questions, return a phone call, and provided such compassion and professionalism when it was time to make the difficult choice to say goodbye to my dog. I am very thankful to have had them during this time and couldn’t say enough good things about this clinic.
