Our cat CoCo was sick and was seen by a great caring vet. She eventually received antibiotic shot and improved back to normal a week later .

Words cannot express how grateful I am to them. I’ve had many vets and they are incredibly nice and old school. My male cat had urinary blockade and they got me in the same day, flushed him out, took care of them through the holidays (5 days) and didn’t charge me an arm or leg. Please don’t listen to the negative reviews. They wouldn’t be happy with any vets! I’m so grateful to have such a caring vet still around in the neighborhood.

Dr Friel has been taking care of our family for over 35 years. He has saved the day so many times!!! This past week, our Yorkie was not doing well & we were very concerned. We drove down from Rangeley & he somehow made time to operate on her, as our now local vet was not able to perform the procedure. He removed 12 stones from her bladder. The staff here really care about animals—best vet I’ve ever had. So far I have been here for routine exams for my dog, and also an injury that she received playing. They are very conscientious of the cost of getting care, and are good at balancing your pet’s well-being with not running up a bill to perform unnecessary tests. I can’t say the same for other area vets, Westbrook Animal Hospital is on a different level. Their prices are reasonable and their staff are wonderful.

Lack of communication, lying, and backtracking last minute. The receptionists attempt on having a power trip at the expense of my cats safety when I called to follow up was deeply upsetting. I have never in my life been spoken to and dismissed the way I was, and was put "on hold" mid sentence. Refusing to answer the phone when I tried to call back. When looking at the other low reviews this seems to be a consistent problem that the hospital has not worked on. IF YOU HAVE CATS DO NOT BRING THEM HERE!! There was another incident with my other cat who had inflammation and when I asked for tests to check because I knew something was wrong (male cat peeing blood or very little) the old vet said no because he, "wouldn't want to put him though that" ????
