My mom and I adopted Quinoa (now Phoebe) several months ago. We originally came here to meet a different cat but they weren’t a good fit for our house and I felt disappointed. The adoption counselor definitely got a feel for what we wanted and led us to our baby girl. She fits so perfectly with her 2 older brothers and is an absolute love, and spoiled rotten. We recently had a very unexpected situation come up and Dr. Hanks couldn’t have been nicer about the whole thing, even when we just had questions and concerns. We are very thankful to ARLGP not just for finding our perfect fit but for the care even after the fact.
This is the picture of my dog indie that I adopted from ARLG as my emotional support dog after I lost my husband. She was 5yrs old. She passed away 2-16-26 from cancer. We all miss our sweet girl. She taught us so much in her short time. Sweetest most loving dog I have ever had.
I’ve never been to an animal shelter nor adopted a pet. The staff were amazing and made the adoption of our puppy seamless! They obviously care a lot about pets and people. Thanks a million for the new addition to our family! Also, I love that you have dedicated foster parents while the animals are waiting to be adopted. I think they are a key part of making adoption a success. It was clear that Pearl was loved and socialized which made the start much easier for us!
As I grieve my cat never coming home I figure writing about it would help. Long story short: "porchy" aka Lacy the cat had owners as far as I knew (legally not my cat, hence why the vet wouldnt let me bring her for a check up.) She had been around for 4 years. We loved her fed her and would let her in when she wanted. She climbs trees and loves being outside. My miserable neighbor took her to the shelter when I asked her not to. I asked her to go speak to the owners. Anyways, she lied to me about taking the cat in. She lied about the cat scratching on her door, lacy doesnt do that. I interpreted the law that you don't take cats to a shelter if they have a home. If we knew the owners didn't want her we could have owned her. The ARL won't let us adopt.. the ACO recommends she doesnt come
I adopted Carly, a brindle pitbull mix, 2 and a half years ago. She was 6 years old when I adopted her. She is a wonderful dog. Obedient, calm, affectionate, clean, and excellent watch dog and is best friends with my cat. I am an over the road truck driver. Carly and my cat ride along with me in my truck. We have been all over the USA. Carly absolutely loves big cities and was thrilled to walk around New York City, Miami, Dallas, Nashville, etc. I noticed that her favorite state is Tennessee. I love Carly dearly and I am so glad that I adopted her.
