West End Shelter for Animals

We found our sweet 3 year old doggie Paige in early Dec here and she has been an amazing addition to our family. I wanted a good family dog since I have a newborn and toddler. The information on her was accurate, which I appreciated. The staff was friendly and we would definitely rescue from here again.

So glad I found this shelter. They have so many cats and kittens that need forever homes (didn't check out the dogs, but they have a separate dog area). They take great care of the animals, all are spayed or neutered and all vaccines up to date. Picked out a beautiful little guy and he's very happy with his new home.

The staff is friendly. We have been looking at dogs here off and on for years but this is the first time actually adopting from here. We adopted this beautiful girl crystal. She is an 82 lb Newfoundland border Collie mix and such a love bug.

I went to visit the cats and dogs at this shelter. Great people that work here! I was in cat heaven with all these cute cats in the hallway. They got along great too! It was a pleasure to see this. Well maintained and animals cared for properly.

We decided to right this post in memory of our Gizmo. We adopted him about 12 years ago from West End Shelter for Animals when we were only 19 years old. He gave us the best 12 years of our lives and we wanted to THANK YOU, for giving my baby a home in the time he was with you guys, before we found him and adopted him. Reading some of the reviews we also wanted to rectify some of the claims made by some reviewers. The adoption process is easy, and even 12 years ago they verified making sure that our apartment complex at the time allowed dogs. They made sure he was a good fit for us, and us for him. (He was a dog that would not do well with children given his background from when he was obtained). And guess what people after 15 years of life that never changed and that’s okay. This is exact
