My family and I were ready to bring another puppy into our home, after loosing our family dog. Our experience this weekend with Warrior Dog Rescue was the absolute worst. I took the time time fill out and honestly answer the questions on the adoption application. And drove to the event to meet the 2 puppies we were interested in adopting. We even spoke with the event coordinator, to be told that both dogs had families already being worked with for those to dogs. Talk with the volunteers who were taking care of them to be told that there were no interested families in them yet. This morning we got an email from the adoption agency the exact answer were expecting! We are sorry we can not go any further with your application because someone in your home smokes! Lots of volunteer opportunities! I did my first event today! Well organized and so many caring people and sweet pups who need fosters.

We adopted our Bozley from Warrior Dog Rescue Thanksgiving 2023 and couldn’t imagine life without him! We’ve adopted from other rescues within the Twin Cities in the past and l appreciated the “extra” hoops we had to jump through to be approved. It means they care. All rescues have a contract that they ask you to sign and abide by, mostly to guarantee you will care for the precious life they are putting in your hands and to prevent the addition of dogs in rescues like theirs. If they don’t, I’d be concerned. Again, they care. Let’s be frank, there are no health guarantees when purchasing a dog, any dog. Family members and myself have experienced the breeder versus rescue scenarios. A breeder may give you a health warranty, but what kind of person returns a dog after a year long bond??? Let

I’m a dog trainer who has worked with Warrior Dog Rescue, they have an amazing mission and always strive to do the best for the dogs in their care. Two of my family’s dogs were adopted from Warrior Dog after we fostered them. I’ve had an amazing time helping this rescue, getting to know the other volunteers, and helping the dogs in their care.
