We had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Thistlewaite and she was wonderful — calm, kind and refreshingly genuine. Exactly what an anxious (and high maintenance) dog needs. Harley did great with her, and they even managed a nail trim (the real win!). So grateful for such compassionate care.
I've been bringing my dog to Walnut Creek Veterinary for the past 8 years, and the care we've received has always been exceptional. The doctors and staff are not only knowledgeable, but also incredibly patient and kind. A special thank you to Dr. Thistlewaite, our primary vet, and to Dr. Beth, who provides acupuncture for our sweet Dezy. Your compassion and expertise mean the world to us. Thank you, WC Vet team, for the tender, loving care you consistently give our girl. We’re so grateful for you! 🐾💛
We’ve been coming here for a few years now and absolutely love it! Staff are all very friendly and our dog always gets so excited when he sees we are pulling up to the office (I know, strange!). The doctors and staff have always taken great care of our dog, no matter what we’ve had to bring him in for, and we can tell everyone genuinely cares. They are also really easy to get a hold of by phone and I love that they have a text line too. So convenient!
I have mixed feelings about my recent visit with my 14-week-old Corgi for her final round of puppy shots. While the front desk staff was incredibly friendly and the medical side of the appointment was handled efficiently, I left feeling very uneasy about the handling of my puppy. Upon entering, the vet immediately turned her back to my puppy while she was jumping to say hello, stating she "has to ignore puppy manners." While I fully understand the importance of training and not rewarding jumping, my puppy is in a critical socialization window. A quick, neutral greeting to build a positive association with the vet would have been more beneficial for her development than a cold shoulder during such an influential age. The most upsetting part of the visit occurred during the vaccinations. T
Our dog, Sadie, had her first visit to Walnut Creek Veterinary Hospital to have her teeth cleaned in July, 2025. We believe Dr. Christofferson, now retired, saved Sadie’s life by finding a stage 1 cancer (treatable) while Sadie was in having her teeth cleaned. The vets and all the staff at Walnut Creek Veterinary Hospital are friendly, gentle and extremely knowledgeable. Sadie is a very nervous dog and the staff made her very comfortable. I would highly recommend Walnut Creek Veterinary Hospital to anyone looking for the right veterinarian for their pet(s). We have finally found a permanent vet for Sadie.
