Waldo’s rescue

Waldo’s will always have a place in my heart and prayers for giving me the biggest joy of my life, my baby girl Bronx. They had reasonable fees, great foster families, great communication and are truly doing a beautiful positive thing in the world. When Bronx came to me 4 years ago she came with her own toys that I still have and cherish and I’m looking forward to visiting soon and donating as many toys as I can for the next lucky families!

We love Waldo! We volunteered to foster and failed on our first little guy (aka Chief). The organization is run nearly completely (or completely) by a truly committed volunteer force…and I do not know how they do it. My family and I picked up our little guy in Aug 2024 and through the next 4 months, they poured so much time and love into our pup to ensure a healthy -happy transition. And it wasn’t only the volunteers that helped us (while holding down paying jobs) - the enormous community gave us such great advice, encouragement, and even supplies - it was the best support system that we have experienced (having adopted dogs two previous times, we’ve never received this level of after care, nor did we ever expect it). I love dogs and believe in rescuing one of the thousands in shelters, rescues, and foster homes. It pains me to share my negative experience with Waldo’s Rescue Pen but as there are hundreds of rescue organizations that are true animal lovers committed to finding the very best homes for the dogs in their care, I feel responsible to share my experience. I spent 3 hours filling out a detailed application and my personal references took the time out of their busy schedules to reply quickly to the inquiries about my character and commitment as a dog owner. I shared a video of my home as well as my previous vet’s information to show I took my deceased dog’s health and well being serious and never missed a wellness check or vaccine. I fostered 4 dogs with Waldo’s Rescue and adopted one from them! The adoption process was super easy and adopting a dog really changed my life for the better. Fostering is such a fulfilling experience as well, I was so happy to be able to make a difference in these pups lives even if it was just for a few weeks. I’m grateful I was able to help them find a home and give them a safe space to decompress from their trauma. I couldn’t recommend them more! Two of my friends have adopted dogs from Waldo’s as well :) Fostering is hard work but so worth it. These dogs deserve a second chance and I’m so glad Waldos was able to help me find my best friend and first pet ever at 25!

I have fostered 3 dogs with Waldo’s now and my brother adopted the first dog I fostered. They are a great organization and do their best to save as many dogs as possible. They are very responsive and there to help throughout the whole process. Volunteering with them was one of the highlights of my year.
