I adopted my sweet, Prince-Nimbus. He was surrendered by a lady who wasn’t able to take care of three kittens. I wanted a cat for another one I have. We had an incident with another cat of ours…. She was starting to pee everywhere and we did everything from getting another litter box, taking her to the vet, putting her on meds and nothing was working. We needed to rehome her due to a personal life situation. Overall she was an amazing cat and loved people and loved love. When a friend of mine tried turning her into the shelter they were just going to kill the cat. Euthanize her. They weren’t going to give her a chance to go to a loving family. Even though we went there 3 times looking for our lost Cat. We found one that's just as cool and kind. So my kids and I fostered her for 3 days and adopted her after the 3rd day... Staff was mostly kind. They need more help on Saturdays. They get busy... Id definitely go again when I get a bigger yard ... Welcome LOTTIE*** Dottie we like to party

I can’t say enough good things about the Virginia Beach Animal Reclaim team! My dog managed to escape from our backyard this morning and had at least a 10-minute head start before I even realized he was gone. I posted on the NextDoor app right away, and within minutes, neighbors let me know that Animal Control had picked him up safely. When I arrived at the shelter a few hours later—completely mortified and embarrassed—the staff could not have been kinder. Miguel helped me at the front counter and was incredibly understanding, reassuring me that this happens from time to time and that I didn’t need to beat myself up over it. They quickly brought me to the back to confirm he was mine (he didn’t even look the least bit sorry!) and then had me fill out the redemption paperwork. I was fully

These people helped me find my new pet. They were very supportive. They shared lots of relevant information. They were super helpful. Most of them were volunteers, and they do this because they love the animals.

Staff folks are so kind and informative. We got the sweetest dog from here and he was already trained so we didn’t have to teach him all of that. Another reason to adopt and not shop! I think we’ve had him for a little over a year already since.
