Hands down the best veterinary care I’ve seen. There’s no waiting room. Your pet is immediately brought to a comfortable room for intake and are treated with the utmost compassion. My dog was not a severe case (he got into a small amount of chocolate that passed without incident) and there were pets there that were being attended critically. Yet the staff took my concerns seriously and took the time to really make sure he was safe from harm. They were compassionate and cared for him like he was theirs. Huge gratitude for you all, keep up the great work!!!

In the early hours of December 14, 2025 our beloved 16-year-old dog, Halen, passed away at home. Not wanting to wait until our regular vet opened, I called VEG 24 in Elk Grove. From the moment they answered the phone, they were compassionate and understanding. When I arrived, a technician named Amanda met me at the door and gently brought Halen inside, treating him with such care and kindness. She took me to a private room, encouraged me to take all the time I needed, listened to stories about him, and treated him as if he were her own. She calmly went over my wishes and explained everything clearly, then gave me space until I was ready to leave. Weeks later, I was notified when his ashes were ready, and everything was prepared so thoughtfully. I was especially touched when I later receive

I can’t say enough good things about VEG in Elk Grove, CA . They were incredibly kind to both me and my dog, Maya, during a very stressful and emotional visit. The staff took the time to explain everything in depth, every test, every option, every next step — and never made me feel rushed or dismissed. I felt heard, supported, and fully informed the entire time. What truly stood out, though, was their compassion. While we were there, another dog sadly passed away nearby. It was heartbreaking to witness, and one of the team members came over afterward just to check on me and make sure I was okay. That level of empathy meant more than I can express. They treat not only the animals, but the humans, with such care and dignity. I’m beyond grateful for the way they showed up for us.

I took about a week to reflect and get answers before I wrote this review. I took my cat Paul into the ER on Saturday because she wasn't eating. The entire process from the moment I walked through the door felt seamless and supportive. They seated me and Paul on a couch in the middle of the room and she was able to cuddle me in between examinations, blood drawing, fluids and then discussion around the diagnosis. She was handled with care and love and I felt very calm the entire time. Of course it was pricey considering it's ER but what Dr. Long told me ended up being completely right and validated by several other vets shortly after. He also told me very clearly what my real options were and what would be good decisions for now and in the future based on how she responded to the solution h

Had an health emergency and googled found 24-7 open VEG next to Mimi’s Cafe in Elk Grove where the old Ulta store was. Great experience despite unfortunate circumstances. The whole staff are very attentive and caring and try their best. I appreciated the break down of what was happening. It’s also nice that you can participate and even hold/ comfort your pet during tough things like injections if need be here as they don’t force separation like many vets do. This is an unusual and unique ( to me ) “open concept” pet hospital meaning you can see other pet patients come in and get treated in order of emergency (like human ER in a way) and you can help / see what is happening within reason. Elias, the vet nurse and everyone were so considerate and helpful during this tough time. Thank you!
