Veterinary Care Group - Astoria

I searched many places in Astoria. Some with great reviews and some not so great. I always check the 1 star review to see if is the consumer’s POV or the business pattern. With VCG Astoria, that was not the case. I was able to book my appointment for the next day, and once we arrived; we were greeted in a very welcoming environment! My cat was so anxious and stressed out and they handled him so well and with care. In fact; I request if it was possible to trim his nails, and they tried, but my cat was having a hard time and I appreciated so much that they didn’t push him further and advised to try in another day. Now, about the fees, I also appreciated that they were very upfront with that. They showed me the fees for vaccines, service, and another couple of lab test. I declined the testing

Dr. Silverman and the staff at VCG Astoria are absolutely wonderful! After adopting a cat from a local rescue, it was nice to know we could also stay local when it came to choosing a vet. Dr Silverman, the vet techs, and front desk staff answered all of our questions and provided the necessary treatments for our little kitty! Thank you for helping us keep our cat happy and healthy!

Friendly staff. They worked really well with my reactive dog and made him feel comfortable during the visit. They explained what treatments needed to be done and provided a breakdown in price. The vet we saw that particular Saturday was very kind, as was the nurse. Naturally, the one thing that didn’t sit well with me was the price of everything that needed to be done, but if you don’t have pet insurance, it is what it is. Nonetheless, I plan on going here moving forward.

We’ve been seeing Dr. Silverman for over 4 years, since my corgi was a tiny puppy (now a full-time troublemaker). He has helped us with everything: annual check-ups and vaccinations, digestion issues, spaying, and even wound care after my dog was attacked by another dog. During that emergency, he made time to see us quickly and explained everything clearly, which meant so much. Dr. Silverman is patient, down-to-earth, and takes the time to explain and give thoughtful advice. You can genuinely tell he loves animals and truly cares about his patients and their owners. As a certified helicopter dog mom, I completely trust him with my corgi, and that says everything. He doesn’t over-prescribe, never pushes products you don’t need, and his pricing is very reasonable. I can’t say enough good things about my cat’s doctor and the entire staff. From the moment we walked in, everyone was kind, patient, and truly caring. The doctor took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and treated my cat with so much gentleness and compassion. You can tell they genuinely love animals and care about their well-being. The staff is professional, friendly, and very supportive, which made a stressful situation so much easier.
