I love this place. The people are fantastic and truly care about the animals they are seeing. The techs and Dr. Starling know my dog and remember his issues, his normals, and everything about him really. Dr. Starling is extremely knowledgeable, kind, caring, and informative. She comes up with a plan and takes time to explain and lets you ask questions. I never feel rushed here, and I’ve never had to wait long. When I need an appointment or a med pickup it doesn’t take multiple days. They usually answer on the first couple of rings and are always helpful and want to make sure the animal and the owner are cared for. Mittens had a severe case of dermatitis and was not feeling her best; she had become aggressive and would hide from us. The staff was able to fit her in next day to see the doctor. He treated her with an antibiotic and steroid and we were able to treat for fleas three days later. A week has passed and she is finally back to her sweet, playful self! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate what they did for our senior cat.

I brought her to Veterinary Associates of Hattiesburg for a swollen leg that I believed might be broken. They performed an X-ray and told me they couldn’t see anything wrong. She was given a steroid shot, ear mite medication, and sent home with a follow-up scheduled a week later. Within two days, her condition worsened. I took her to Hometown Veterinary Hospital in Brandon, where the staff immediately diagnosed both a fracture and a severe abscess. The vet there was confused as to why a more thorough exam hadn’t been done at the first clinic — and honestly, so was I.
