Animal Medical Center

My sweet, male chihuahua Frank was diagnosed with luxation of both patella. We knew that surgical repair was required, but thought we had some time. On a weekend, Frank began limping and crying out. We rushed him to Animal Medical Center of Hattiesburg. Our regular vet’s office was not open. We were treated with empathy and understanding from the beginning. No waiting; we were quickly ushered into a room and seen within 5 minutes. The prognosis was for surgery on the left leg. Frank was admitted and Dr. Mayfield (Jr.) performed his procedure. I was kept abreast of his condition and how soon he could be picked up. Dr. Crawford and all staff involved in coco’s care have been amazing. Staff is friendly and kind and truly love animals. Dr. Crawford is patient, knowledgeable, and willing to do what is best for my little coco. she had a lot of ups and downs but she never would have made it this far without his help and compassion. 10 out of 10 recommended we are truly grateful for animal medical center’s exceptional service.

I was headed back to Louisiana from visiting my best friend in Mississippi when my little Maltipoo ended up with a bad abcess tooth and I still had 5 more hours to before I got home. I Googled Animal hospitals near me and the ad caught my eye. So I turned around and drove 15 mins in the other direction. And I’m glad I did. They were very friendly, courteous, polite and helpful. It was a Saturday and they don’t do surgeries on Saturdays but they made sure he had what he needed to make it home comfortably. I will recommend this Vet Hospital to anyone that is close to it. Animal Medical Center is great!! Dr. Mayfield III is a wonderful veterinarian to our two pups and takes the time to answer all my questions. Michelle at the front desk is always helpful and friendly. The boarding staff, especially Sammy, Noah, and Michelle are exceptional and take great care of our boys when they board!! ♥️

Dr. Belcher and staff are absolutely amazing! Brought my elderly beagle Spanky in as a referral from our local vet due to sudden paralysis. Dr. Belcher explained all procedures, diagnostics tests and surgery possibilities. After leaving Spanky in their care, Dr. Belcher kept me informed all evening of the results of the tests that were performed. He ended up having surgery later that evening, and he kept me informed even late in the night of his surgery outcome which was very positive. The staff was wonderful in keeping me updated each day even with the small details. Fast forward two weeks and Spanky is WALKING AGAIN and doing wonderful!! Dr. Belcher is an amazing veterinarian and a wealth of knowledge! I am so thankful we were referred to this place!
