5 stars is not enough to express the care we received. In one week, my cat Kendra has had two visits here. We have been met with nothing but compassion, empathy and knowledge. whether it be over the phone, where they were happy to speak to me for 30 minutes and check in with me or in person while I broke down in tears and was extremely vulnerable. I dealt with multiple people as it is an emergency office and they were all Wonderful. Unfortunately, I know first hand how rare a positive experience is. At VEG, I did not feel like we were just a number to them. I felt heard and both veterinarian’s we saw, as well as the staff.. were supportive & great with my cat. They took her situation seriously and made sure she got the help she needed. I felt like they went the extra mile to do so for her

I’ve had multiple awesome experiences here over the last two years. I run a rescue for medically complex kittens, so emergencies happen, and there aren’t always vets who know what to do with babies, but so far I’ve had really great luck with knowledgeable, compassionate staff. I know it can also be frustrating for vets to have someone come in who thinks they know what they’re doing (I’m sorry!) but they all respected my perspective and were an absolute joy to partner with on each case, despite some of them having better outcomes than others. My most recent visit this past weekend I came with *two* emergencies, my dog and a kitten both with unrelated wounds that needed tending to. Even though it was a busy Friday night, we were quickly ushered to our own corner of the facility for triage. D

We ended up having to take our 12-year-old golden retriever, Marty, to VEG. We truly went in thinking the worst. The entire staff treated him and us with such care and kindness. They immediately began a thorough evaluation of him and were able to alleviate all of our fears and anxiety! They treated him, gave us the appropriate treatment with detail and clear instructions and we brought our boy home! Thank you from our entire family!

I want to thank the team at Veterinary Emergency Group because they were excellent in taking care of my dog. We went because she had bloody diarrhea; I had already taken her to another emergency hospital on Wednesday, since she started with diarrhea and vomiting on Tuesday, but I didn’t like the service there. I felt that for that other clinic, money was the priority and that we were not treated well. We thought she was getting better, but on Friday the diarrhea returned. We went to several places and none of them could take her in, until a clinic recommended VEG to me. I called, and the person who answered was very sweet. As soon as I arrived, they already knew who I was and who my dog was. They brought us in right away and examined her. They also allowed me to stay with my dog, which I

We visited VEG late at night because my dog was vomiting and crying in pain. From the moment we walked in the receptionist treated us with compassion. The ER was busy but we were triaged quickly. Once we were inside all the techs were amazing and friendly. Dr. Ross treated our dog and it was determined he would be ok. She was through and explained everything very well. Our dog Frankie was given meds for his stomach and fluids for dehydration. He was sedated for his X-rays and we waited for results and they even gave him a comfy blanket to sleep it off on in the waiting room. Cost was extremely reasonable for emergency. I recommend VEG to everyone! Thank you to the Commack staff!
