VCA Capital Area Veterinary Emergency and Specialty

I brought my two dogs in this morning because I knew that at least one of them had eaten a lot of chocolate and peanuts that she had gotten into. We were seen almost immediately so that vomiting could be induced. Yes, Rosie was the only culprit! Everything had come out of her stomach! My other dog, Piper, is very anxious and nervous. All the staff were soooooo considerate and respectful with Piper, allowing me to be with her to ease her anxiety. Our result turned out well. Both dogs are fine now. I can't say enough about the wonderful care Rosie and Piper received from all the staff. I was kept informed every step of the way. I felt very confident about the treatment they received. I am so glad I went to CAVES and can't thank the staff enough.

As terrible as it was, and it was the worst day of my life, putting down my very extremely beloved kitty at VCA CAVES was as good of an experience as it was going to get. We would have went to his primary vets, but it was Labor Day and everywhere else was closed and his body was shutting down very fast and it couldn’t wait. I called ahead and they were ready for us when we got there with him and immediately put us in “the room”. It was dimly lit and very peaceful. The techs were extremely compassionate, caring, considerate and explained the process thoroughly. They gave us as much time with him as we needed before they took him to put in his IV catheter. What can I say. I brought my dog in because I believed she was actively dying directly in front of my face. Such a sense of urgency when I burst through the door frantically trying to explain what was happening. Every single employee rushed to my car to triage and within a minute, we’re rolling her into the examination room. Long story short…they saved my dog Margaret’s life. The absolute love of my life. My dog who is with me almost 24/. Every single employee was completely in tune with my feelings and were so nurturing. While Margaret was being saved, the staff not in the exam room were focusing on my well being. What an amazing group of individuals. This will sound strange, but I’ve been mourning the loss of Margaret for years and wondered why I can’t just live in the present momen

Although the outcome wasn't what we had hoped, Caves did all that they could to help our sweet girl. Within minutes of arrival the team whisked her away for an xray and recommended emergency surgery to save her & despite valiant effort, it could not be done. Dr Adams was kind and knowledgeable, the entire team was lovely throughout this horrific experience. Her team prioritized our dog's comfort and ensured she was not suffering from pain. They let us see our girl before surgery, and gave us all the time we needed before she was euthanized. Thank you CAVES for your kindness and care. 🐾Pinto 2020-2026

We brought our dog Banner to CAVES today and I can’t say enough about the care and kindness we received. The entire team treated him with such compassion and patience, and they were equally kind and empathetic toward me through a very stressful day. Banner was cared for like he was their own. A special thank you to Lindsey, Vivian, and Kelly for their calm, professional, and truly human approach that made all the difference. We are so grateful for the level of attention and heart they brought to both Banner’s care and ours.
