We adopted a 4 month old puppy from TLC in June 2025. Just hit the 3 month mark of the 3-3-3 Rule and have been reflecting on the excellent experience we've had with TLC. The adoption application was thorough and asked very thoughtful questions. After looking at puppy profiles and deciding on one, we attended a TLC event. At the event we got to play with and walk the puppy as well as talk to her fosters. The fosters were extremely knowledgable and honest about her. The fosters and the rescue did an excellent job helping socialize her. Once we decided to move forward and adopt, we met at the TLC office to cat test her. TLC sent us home with a month of flea and heart worm meds and a puppy that has blossomed into a cherished family member.

I adopted my first dog from TLC In 2018 as a first time dog owner , renting , and having no fenced in yard, and all of those things were not deal breakers like they would be for other rescues. Everything in the dogs profile was accurate , her foster shared all of her quirks at our adoption appointment , and even kept in touch afterwards. I adopted my second dog from them in 2021. Hands down the easiest , nicest , and best rescue to work with. Everyone is kind and really invested in making the right dog/human match. Plus the provide support after the dog is adopted if needed. I can’t recommend TLC enough. My family members and neighbors have all also adopted from TLC since I can’t stop raving about them as well.

I’ve been volunteering with TLC Rescue for almost six years, and I can honestly say I absolutely love this organization. I’ve volunteered with other rescues before, but TLC is hands down the best one I’ve ever seen. They truly care about every single dog they bring into the rescue — no matter the medical issue, age, or background. The commitment to giving each dog the care, treatment, and time they need is incredible. These dogs aren’t just numbers — they’re family. Because TLC is 100% foster-based, they get to know their dogs so well. The foster families learn their personalities, behaviors, and all their little “quirks,” which makes such a difference when it comes time to match them with adopters. They’re not guessing — they really understand what each dog needs and what type of home w

We adopted a dog from TLC. Unbeknownst to us, the dog exhibited fear of the foster’s husband. This was not disclosed to the rescue or to us when we met the foster. She displayed fear aggression toward my husband from day 1. We took her to our vet who strongly suggested we get a different dog and that perhaps this dog would do best in a predominantly female-led home as sometimes a dog with lots of training may respond but sometimes they don’t. We returned the dog heartbroken and feeling like horrible failures. We raised 4 rescues and cared for them their entire lives. I am not writing this to justify our decision (we believed it was the best for the dog too but we still felt awful ) but I am writing this because the dog we returned is back on the website after 2 weeks with no mention of why

We adopted a great dog from To Love a Canine. Our dog Summer was around two years old when we adopted her in April. She was everything the bio said about her, and more. Friendly, smart, housebroken and an overall joy. The adoption process was easy, the volunteers are friendly and answer questions. When we look for a friend for Summer, we will be back.
