Tillamook Animal Shelter

TAS rescued this little fella in May when he was wandering the streets as an in-tact male. When the holding period expired, they shipped him off to OHS-Salem, where I met "Crab" on June 7th, 2024. 4-11-25: PISS POOR SIGNAGE!!! Went to visit last week & due to NO SIGNAGE ON HWY, I passed the driveway twice. Traffic rides your butt & i couldn't stop in time. PLEASE FIX YOUR SIGNAGE!!!

Adopted a kitten from Tillamook a month ago and had a great experience. They clearly care about the animals health and well-being. After adoption I was able to call back and get tips on kitten care. They don't spay/neuter when the kittens are too young/small unlike most shelters. Instead you get certificate for when the kitten is 4 months old, which I appreciate. As mentioned earlier Google maps will send you to a nearby farm rather than the shelter.

I adopted a cat from the folks at Tillamook Animal Shelter a little over a month ago, and as I look back on my experience with them I can confidently say that I have no regrets! Yes, as per some other recent reviews, their email responses can seem curt and concise, but as I corresponded with them more about a particular cat I was wanting to adopt, it became very clear that they truly prioritize their animals' well-being (perhaps even over customer service to some). And when it finally came time to take the cat home, I could tell that they really took the time to make sure my new cat would be taken care of and that his new home would be a good fit, and I felt that they made the process very easy for me as the ~adopter~ to make the transition, too. Very happy with my experience with TAS! Go

Absolutely fantastic animal shelter. Very knowledgeable about all their animals. Every animal who is even slightly social is well socialized and cared for. All the dogs are given space to move around and socialize safely, not "put in a cage to fight". Adoption process was no nonsense and they're very generous. Also just cool people there in general.
