The Tropical Frog

As an exotics keeper, Petco and Petsmart often disappoint me with their stocking and prices. Decided to check this place out for their first day in the new location, hoping it would be worth it. 100% it was. All of the tanks and enclosures were clean, they also had beautiful bioactive enclosures. All the animals were colorful and healthy and there were so many different species, and the supplies section was far more affordable and diverse with higher quality product, unique natural tank litter (alder cones, lots of leaf litter, etc) plus staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Lots of shops like this are stuffy and stinky, but this place didn’t have that smell and everything was organized and clean. What a cool little shop with so much to offer! Google maps does a pretty good job of steering me to places to get what I am after. I typed in "red root floaters" as I was seeking more of these aquatic plants to provide shade for my Axolotl. The Tropical Frog was one of the few places that popped up and I'm so glad I went! As the other reviews have started, the owner is very passionate about their business and I really enjoyed the conversation that was stirred by my search of plants. They carry mainly freshwater fish and tropical frogs. A couple axolotl's too! The quality of the floaters I received were top notch. I'll definitely be back!

I had a wonderful experience here and will definitely become a regular for buying fish and reptile products! Animals are very well cared for and is supper clean:)

Visited The Tropical Frog today and a few things surprised me! One was how clean and odor-free the store was. I go to a LOT of pet stores and usually there is not a great smell going on there. This magical gem of a store was absolutely packed with beautiful dart frogs of every color, super cool shrimp and snails, fish, aquarium plants, and supplies. The owners were really nice and shared some plans with me of more frogs they’re planning on for the future. I love me some frogs so I’ll definitely be back! I got a really nice, large, arboreal enclosure there that I am SO happy with! One little reddish brown frog kept doing the most awesome call that made me feel like I was on an exotic island and when I saw him make the call I was so excited because his whole little body, the size of my pinky

Super knowledgeable owner and great prices, this fish store is super legit. Glad there's something in the Brooklyn Park area like this, awesome selection all around. I picked up loaches, plecos, chiclids and snails. The owner was so passionate about the fishes well being. Highly recommend!
