The Animal Keeper

My husband and I truly love the staff here. We have been bringing our dogs to the Animal Keeper since moving to North County. We’ve always brought two dogs in for grooming but recently had to put down our senior dog. Our two dogs, King and Star love Josh… and for Star thats a first she usually doesn’t like men LOL but Josh always made sure to take care of them both and give them the best care. We brought Star in alone for the first time and Josh instantly noticed something was wrong because there should be two doggies. Just looking at Josh I could tell how heart breaking it was to hear of the loss of King as well… he loves these dogs he caters to like they are his own! We’ve boarded our two indoor cats here twice now and while they are always very happy to come home, it’s so relieving to know they are in good hands and cared for when we’re traveling for longer stretches. They also make sure to give each one a bit of attention each day which my little Velcro girls appreciate. They don’t reach out with updates proactively, but whenever we call, they have detailed notes to go over which I really appreciate

We love the animal keeper! We've been boarding our dogs with them for several years and our dogs always seem to do well when we come back. The front desk and dog handlers are great and very accommodating. One year we had to board our dogs for several months due to severe water damage and having to live in a hotel during renovations. The animal keeper added playtime for our dogs for free because we were in such a tight spot and they cared about our dogs <3 we'll be using TAK forever.

My neighbor recommended them! The staff is super friendly, you can tell they love their job & the animals! They really care. As soon as we walk in they all greet us, by name. My little guy loves it here! We'll be trying grooming services eventually as well!

I took my dog, Teddy, to The Animal Keeper in Oceanside this morning, Wednesday Nov. 19, for a grooming appointment and was really disappointed in how the situation was handled. I dropped him off, left the facility, and shortly after got a call to come pick him up because the groomer had been in a car accident. I absolutely understand that emergencies happen, and I’m glad the groomer is okay. My issue is not the accident itself, but the way the business handled it on the customer side.
