The Animal Care Shelter for Kent County

I have been fostering an adult cat for over 2 months and it has been a wonderful experience. She has done very well adjusting to living in a house and has brought a lot of joy to my brother and myself. The folks at the shelter have been great and have provided everything I need to feed and give comfort to this cat. I highly recommend this if you have room in your home and your heart.

My experience with the Animal Care Shelter for Kent County was wonderful from start to finish. Everyone was kind and patient and truly took the time to help me find the right puppy. They made sure to match me with a dog that fit my personality perfectly, and it turned out to be an excellent match. I absolutely love my dog, and she clearly loves being here too. She’s become quite the neighborhood celebrity because she’s so friendly—though she definitely has a bit of a Napoleon complex! Overall, the entire experience was relaxed, professional, and genuinely caring. The staff is top-notch and truly invested in the well-being of the puppies and dogs in their care. I adopted my new cat “Penny” formerly known as “ Puff”, exactly one week ago today, and her and I have been getting along so well! She has made herself right at home and I am so thankful for her! There aren’t enough good things to say about all the staff I came into contact with on my adoption day, I was very informed on each cat I visited, given very detailed records for Penny when the adoption process was complete. The whole process was a breeze from the start to finish! Highly recommend this facility if you’re considering adoption in your future! Thanks again for connecting me with my new furry friend!

Excellent animal adoption facility! Clean and neatly arranged facility with different options for the animals. Workers Dan & Paige helped my wife and I in our adoption process of our new cat Millie. They got us a good scratching post and bed for Millie. The cost was minimal, so we gave them a donation also.
