I enrolled in both the basic and advanced private training sessions at Tarheel Canine with my 4-year-old German Shepherd, Torvi, to enhance her skills as a psychiatric service dog. Jerry Bradshaw was exceptional—knowledgeable, patient, and truly dedicated to helping us succeed. Torvi made incredible progress in obedience, focus, and composure, especially in high-stress situations. Jerry tailored the training to our specific needs and gave me the tools to be a more confident handler. I highly recommend Tarheel Canine and Jerry to anyone looking for professional, effective dog training—especially for service dog preparation.

I was a student at Tarheel Canine in their police dog program and can't speak highly enough of them! The trainers are a wealth of knowledge and have helped me in SO many ways with my own personal dog, client dogs and my confidence as a k9 handler. Tarheel is the best!

We have been customers of Tarheel K9 since we purchased our first Malinois from them in 2006. Since then we have had 3 dogs train with them under different trainers and also purchased a personal protection dog from them in 2019, so obviously we are repeat customers. This review will be about pet obedience with Derek Beckelman and the administration services of Olivia Beckelman. This was our first time working with Derek. We got a Malinois puppy in June 2022. We decided to send her to the in-board training after an unexpected surgery on the puppy got us a little behind with her training. We wanted to get her some experience in other environments. Olivia was great to work with as far as communication, organizing the dates and all the paperwork for the in-board training. We were trying to sc

Triple stars all around. Not only do they do a good job training but keep on great on communicating and helpful after they do training. Ciara is awesome! I would rate it even higher if I could. My dog loves them too.

I would highly recommend Tarheel Canine to anyone looking for a place to take their pup/dog for obedience training. My bf and I have sent our three dogs through their training and we couldn’t be much happier. I just picked up our GSD pup about three weeks ago and she has changed 180. She now has manners and has calmed down a lot! One of the things I really liked about this place was how on top of things Cierra was regarding my GSD. I also like that you pay a flat rate for their training and your dog doesn’t leave till they (TC) feel that your dog has learned everything even if it takes a few extra weeks. Overall, my bf and I are very happy with our experiences and recommend this place to anyone.
