TAPS No-Kill Animal Shelter

I adopted 2 bonded sister cats and everything went very well and pretty smooth. I just applied, got accepted, scheduled a meeting time, met the cats, everything went great, and then took them home. Everyone at TAPS was very helpful and nice.

My boyfriend and I adopted our 2 year old dog from Taps in May of 2024! It was an amazing experience all around. They were very prompt in responding and we have the BEST dog in the world now! (Mango!) The adoption fee was only $100 (VERY reasonable - I’ve seen other shelters over $500+) which included all his vaccinations/neutering, etc. They also sent us with toys/crate/leash/collar. Super amazing staff. Definitely a wonderful shelter and would recommend!

It should be negative 10! This is the worst shelter I ever tried to adopt from!!! I live in Cook County IL and it's a little pricey to adopt, so I tried TAPS! BIG WASTE OF TIME!!! Tried for 3 weeks to adopt a puppy but never heard a word if I was approved or not!! I ended up back at the same shelter that I adopted a 2 month old 3 1/2 years ago. I went back to Hinsdale humane society and walked out with our new beautiful little girl the same day!! I guess it was FATE that TAPS NEVER RESPONDED! Please don't waste your time..THIS PLACE SUCKS 🤬🤬

This place is a joke. Drive 20 minutes out of the way being a full time college student to look for a dog and get told that I have to have a confirmed application to even look at him. Like I don't have the time to run back and forth multiple times while I could be studying. DONT COME HERE! it's not worth it.
