Kimberly works magic with all the dogs and the dogs love her. She is calm and collected and does not believe in yelling at the dogs or physically punishing them! Make no mistake, as with any trainer, you as the owner have to take responsibility and practice with the dog, but her techniques work!!! We have a changed dog and we LOVE Kimberly!

I met Kimberly from Take The Lead LLC Dog Training, through a co-worker who is taking her beautiful little boy to training. I adopted Carmel in October 2024 and we started our training in March 2025. We started with group training. ( I say we because Kimberly also trains us as your pups handler ) Carmel is very hyper and pulled when we would walk. My back would hurt so bad, I would be crying because I really wanted both of us to enjoy our walks and adventures together. Carmel and I are a work in progress and it's my job to be patient with her and myself. However, she has come so far in her training. Kimberly is fantastic! I found Kimberly after I had recently adopted a new dog, Skyler. I had not had a young dog in the house for a long time so I was looking for guidance with training. Kimberly was great with Skyler and he (and I) learned so much: recall, long line leash, etc.. I now feel comfortable and confident taking him for walks and how to react if he reacts to other dogs (which is few and far between now). Kimberly is great about explaining things and is very responsive to questions between training appointments. I plan to do more training with Kimberly in the future.

I found Kimberly through a pack walk after we had tried an approach to training that was not effective. Right from the start, I liked her demeanor and approach to training. We completed private lessons and are now continuing with group classes. We also did e-collar training with her as our goal was to have a reliable recall when we're camping and have our dog offleash (only after we know she can recall), and she used it fairly to ensure the best communication with our dog. Wow, where do I even start? My 1.5 year‑old golden retriever is basically a furry tornado of energy, and after trying obedience training with other trainers, nothing really stuck. Then I found Take The Lead LLC. From the very first group class, Kimberly had me hooked. She taught my pup self‑control techniques that actually make sense, we worked on impulse control, and she explained everything in a way that felt totally doable at home.
