When I first went to Stephen I was so overwhelmed with my very independent golden. At 7mo old my boy Dune did not have an off switch and was very resistant to the word “no.” It was so stressful for me because I felt like I was fighting my dog all the time. But my first visit with Stephen put me at ease as he helped me understand my dog’s temperament and needs. I knew I made the right choice. Fast forward 4 weeks later and I was shocked at the transformation. I thought surely he’s not gonna accomplish all this in such a short time. But man did he - I got back the most obedient dog! We absolutely cannot sing Stephen’s praises enough. Watching our Akita change with the training that was provided for her, was nothing short of amazing! A dog the size of ours HAS to behave or they are simply not safe or enjoyable. Jasmine is such a joy to be around now! Axel the Old English Mastiff needed to learn some manners. At 8 months old and 135 pounds he was a gigantic dog that bowled you over with affection. We dropped Axel off at Swans on a Monday and when we picked him up on Friday he had learned how to heel, down, place and quite a few other commands. Axel was still a bundle of joy, but much easier to control. Stephen and his crew quickly increased Axels learning curve. They really made our Axel feel at home there. Unbelievable results with my seven month old goldendoodle. Despite completing obedience group training, our 7-month-old yellow Lab, Annie, was still overwhelming the neighbor kids with her overexcitement—jumping on them and accidentally scratching their arms and legs. She also had a major issue with leash pulling. Stephen really took the time to listen to our concerns, and within just two weeks, Annie became a completely different greeter. She’s still her affectionate self, but she's learning how to be a more respectful and well-mannered dog. Plus, she absolutely loves visiting the team at Swan Family Dog Training, which reassures us that she’s being treated with care and kindness. And despite having 7 labs before Annie, we learned a great deal about handling her as well.
