Star Dog Obedience

Our 6-year old rescue dog, Daisy, went to Star Dog Behavior for a 6-week board and train program. My family and I can’t begin to thank Lex and Dave for working with her (and more so, us!), taking her from being afraid of absolutely everything, to learning the entire world was not a dangerous place, and becoming confident in herself. We learned why Daisy behaved the way she did, and they taught us how to work together with her to achieve confidence in herself (and ourselves). All we wanted was to give this girl a happy life, but we did not have the tools needed to do so. She had serious trust issues, and their approach was kind and patient, and she began to trust them. Stardog was recommended to me by my vet after my 10 month old puppy had weeks of traumatic experiences following a surgery (done by another vet) and began showing behavioral issues. He was super uneasy around people, would growl if anyone got near him, and was extremely nervous about getting a collar/leash put on. I became very nervous about bringing him in public, around new people, and having visitors in our home. Following our training, he is much more comfortable around people with less growling, no issues about his collar or leash, and his way closer to being back to how he was pre surgery. Today was ANOTHER amazing day for Lady Luck Animal Rescue. I am the Adoption Coordinator for the dogs. We have sent numerous reactive dogs to Melody and her team for training. Buddy is a 1 year old German Shepherd who was extremely reactive to other dogs, making it difficult to find him a forever home. Buddy spent 1 month in Board training at Star Dog Obedience and has completely transformed into a confident, well mannered and dog friendly pet! Today, his family drove 4 hours to Melody’s to pick up their boy! We are forever grateful to the hard work and dedication that Melody and her team invest in every dog they train. Star Dog Obedience is absolutely amazing! Melody takes the time to carefully evaluate each and every dog, creating a personalized training plan that fits their individual needs. We first brought our puppy, Jack, to her, and she was incredibly kind, patient, and gentle throughout the entire process. Her calm, positive approach helped him learn so much and build confidence. Now, we’ve rescued a new Shepherd who came to us very skittish and fearful of people. Melody has been working with her and is already helping her come out of her shell, gain trust, and feel safe again. It’s truly heartwarming to see the progress.
