Southeast Volusia Humane Society

What a clean, well run shelter. The dedicated staff, teams and volunteers there, are amazing. If I return as a dog or cat, and I get lost, please take me here! I'll be safe and loved until someone takes me home. Meet my "foster failure" Teddy. Often wonder who rescued who?

Wonderful humane society. Their staff and volunteers are so helpful and kind. The love they have for animals is evident. My family and I decided it was time to add to our family and SVHS was extremely responsive over their social media accounts, even after hours! It was extremely busy when we went to pay their cats a visit but they were well organized and had had plenty of staff and volunteers on the floor to help.

In it for the $$. Elitist group pandering to peoples love for their pets. Dont really help animals at all unless they get $. Wouldn't even look at this poor stray kitten because they don't have a contract with the city anymore because their fees are so exorbitant. Humane?? I think not.

The staff at this facility were so very friendly and helpful. Most importantly everyone there really seemed to care about the animals. Crystal was incredible! She knew so much about each of the animals and spent the time to help us find the perfect match. I can’t remember everyone’s name but we thank them all for such a pleasurable experience. We highly recommend Southeast Volusia Humane Society to anyone! Thank you again to all of you!!

This shelter may be smaller but it has heart. The staff is so caring and always doing their best for the animals. There is a ton of community involvement. They use social media to keep people informed about lost pets, special situations, fun events and fundraisers that are planned, etc. They work hard to keep things going for the animals. If you are looking to adopt or for a worthy charity to support, Southeast Volusia Humane Society is definitely the place for that.
