From the moment we walk through the door, the entire team shows genuine warmth, professionalism, and compassion. They don’t just “treat” my cats — they care for them like family. The veterinarians are incredibly knowledgeable and take the time to explain everything clearly, never rushing through appointments. The techs and front desk staff are equally amazing — patient, kind, and always ready with a reassuring word or helpful tip. What I love most is how attentive they are to the little details. They make sure my cats feel safe and comfortable, and they always follow up after visits to ensure everything is going well. Finding a vet like this is rare

My dog was barely able to finish his walk one day due to sudden worsening of hip arthritis. I found South Loop Animal Hospital had excellent reviews and I was in the market to find a new Veterinary clinic/hospital. I got in sooner than expected for a new client, and we had the best experience we have ever had. Firstly, this office is immaculate and odor free. The veterinary assistant was thorough in our onboarding to their system. The Veterinarian was also thorough, detailed in explanation of our options and sent me a very detailed summary of care options for my dog after our visit. I highly value and respect the professional and friendly culture there at SLAH. We thank you so much!!

I have been taking my cats here for many years and always receive the best service. They’re so friendly, caring and patient. When my older cat had a lot of health issues they were so accommodating with squeezing him into appointments as needed and tried to minimize costs where they could. My older cat has since passed but SLAH team sent flowers / a card signed by the staff when it happened and it was such a sweet sentiment and made me realize how genuine they are. I have since adopted another cat who I make sure gets her care from the SLAH team, specifically Dr Ojala (she’s the best!) - however everyone is wonderful here! From front desk staff, to vet techs to drs. Highly recommend!

We’ve been bringing our pup Arya to South Loop Animal Hospital at their East Side location, since she was just a tiny puppy in 2021, and we truly couldn’t ask for a better team. Every doctor and receptionist we’ve encountered has been kind, professional, and clearly passionate about animals. A special shoutout to Calli — she always remembers us, even though we’ve become snowbirds splitting our time between Florida and Chicago. It means so much to feel that personal connection and genuine care every time we walk through the door. South Loop Animal Hospital is a place where your pet is treated like family. chicago pet owners, can’t RECOMMEND this location enough ! starting with the warm welcome from two friendly folks at reception to the person completing intake, we experienced a team that genuinely loves pets and ensures you and your fur baby receive high quality care. my pup couldn’t have loved dr. mistar more (even after the vaccines!) as her approach is empathetic and conscious of the dog’s comfort. so happy to have established care here!
