My parents had the privilege of adopting “Arthur” (now Sampson) from SGH and had a fantastic experience! The staff were kind, really sat with them to get to know them and what kind of dog they were looking for, and were very knowledgeable. The volunteers also seemed so hardworking and dedicated, it was great to see. I can’t recommend this place enough! Sampson in his new home 😊 we love him so much already!

I had an amazing experience with Shultz's Guest House. I've adopted a lot of dogs and this was by far the easiest and best. The people who work and volunteer are extremely nice and helpful. I also got to meet the founder of this rescue and immediately loved him. What a sweet man. Would definitely adopt from here again.

I adopted my best friend from Shultz around a year and a half ago. It was such a great experience. My wife and I are so incredibly thankful to all the volunteers that made this process so easy! Our lives are much more fulfilling with Bruce (formerly Poppy) in it!

Adopted this little cutie from them. Wonderful group of folks you can tell how loving they are to and for their animals. Will be back sometime again next year to adopt another so Tori can get a sibling.

“You’ve done a massive disservice by this dog, and I hope you treat your human child better.” — Martha, SGH We adopted a puppy from SGH in 2024. While she was very sweet, she had a strong prey drive and required significant exercise and mental stimulation (i.e., 3–5 miles daily, long-line yard runs, nose games, etc.). Without this, she would stalk/hunt our senior cat and, understandably, find other outlets to burn energy. While generally manageable, we were ultimately unable to adequately meet her needs due to changing life schedules and the arrival of our daughter. After approximately 1.5 years, we made the difficult decision to begin the rehoming process through SGH. My initial email was met with a judgmental and condescending reply, along with a request for medical records and daycare
